Neighborhood is a little rundown but there appear to be no safety concerns. Parking is tight.

I stayed at the underground room, and was surprised to find out when I got there. Undergroud rooms, I think, should be rated separately, and noticed to guests in advance. Most people might be offended to find out that they are staying there when they get to the hotel. I would never have stayed there if I had known earlier that I would be staying at the undergorund floor.

The location is very convenient as it is 1 block away from the subway. The rooms are clean and the city view is fantastic!

Breakfast was not good, the room was way to small to cater for so many guests, the one coffeemachine had broken down, there was not enough staff to fill up the food. Staff was friendly but not very good. Gave wrong directions, spoke poor English and did not look very happy. All in all, I would not recommend this hotel.

Country Inn & Suites Long Island City is an excellent 4 star hotel located within 15 minutes of Manhattan (Times Square) by subway. The rooms and furnishings are very nice, the staff polite and accommodating and best of all a fraction of the cost of a comparable room in Manhatton
